SOLUTION TO LAST MONTH'S QUIZ

  1. 11
  2. 7
  3. 20

Notes.
 1. A + 1 = 2(A - 5)
        Solving, A = 11

 2. 5(B - 1) = F - 1
     4(B + 1) = F + 1
        Solving, B = 7, F = 31

 3. C = D - x
     C - x = D - y (x years ago)
     C - y = D/2 (y years ago)
     C + D = 44

     Solving, C = 20, D = 24, x = 4, y = 8
